Young Brave Hearts
Hello, My name is Jessica and I have created this forum in association with the Digital Clubhouse Network (NON- Profit) which resides in History San Jose. The Digital Clubhouse was established in 1996 by NASA and still runs today for people of any ages willing to volunteer for their community. We use the power of media to ease tensions and educated others about several categories. Currently our major two sub-programs are Stories of Service (www.stories-of-service.org ) and Youth Health Advocates (www.youads.org ). Young Brave Hearts is a program in which anyone can join to help another in need. In basic words, if you have been through a life impacting experience and know that others have been through it too, or others might, you can capture the experience in a five minute digital story. You may have had a medical issue or many medical issues, someone might have died in your family, you may be going through hard times, or you simply want to educate someone else in a friendly way to tell them, if this happens to you, you can get through it, I did, or at least I’m trying to. Once you know what you want to talk about you will see that these digital stories consist of pictures/photographs, your voice and music. We create the movie using Adobe Premiere. In order to create your movie to share to the world, there are a few steps to follow. The first step is to create a script telling others about what happened and how it changed your life. When you read this script, think to yourself, did I get the message across? Do they know what happened to me and how I overcame it, or how I am living with it? Once you finish the script, you want to find pictures that match your script. With that you make a storyboard. A storyboard consists of text and pictures that match with each other, it usually has two columns and is create on a word document. You don’t want random pictures to go with what you are saying, so always double/triple check that everything is according. At this time, you can record your voice; you want to read the script with emotion. Whether it is a sad moment or a happy moment, you want to audience to differentiate with your voice so they can tell which moment is which. Using the Adobe Premiere, you add your voice over and place in pictures with the proper transitions to create motion effects. There have been movies created about Digital Healing, which were created by a group of high school students in Sunnyvale, California at a local mall in 1998. Since they were the first round of Digital Healing Stories and the software was not as advanced, the quality is not as rich, but you can see the message they are sending. The Digital Clubhouse Network is located at History Park San Jose 1650 Senter Road, San Jose, CA 95112. We have weekly meetings on Saturdays from 10AM- 12PM (Noon.) I am more than willing to schedule an appointment with you if you would like to share your story, if you would like to join or if you just want to see what we’re about. Thank you!Sincerely, Jessica (Administrator)
